The Illuminati Strikes Again

Goodbye goes the morsel of respect I had left for the Grammy's.

Look, I think Taylor Swift is good for what she does. She's good for her demographic. But BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR? That's a hefty statement.

With the two biggest entertainment award ceremonies, the Grammy's and the Oscar's, I believe (that for as much weight they have in the industry) the winner of Best Album and Best Picture should not only be the most superior of the year but also be able to compete with all the other past bests/nominees.

That's why I think lil Taylor winning is such a travesty. She's a decent pop singer/songwriter who writes catchy tunes about unrequited love at the tender age of 16. Ehhh. Last year In Rainbows got nominated. Would she be able to hold her own up against Radiohead? Any of Kanye's albums? The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill? Bob Dylan anybody? Not to say I think anyone else deserved it. Amongst the illuminati triad of B, Gaga, and Taylor Swift, I'm wondering how much publicity, record sales, and spectacles had to do with their nominations. Love you Gaga, your album has some good hits, but BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR? Hell no. The Black Eyed Peas??? -____- And then there's Dave Matthews, but who really cares. So I guess I can't totally hate on Taylor when really it's just the absolutely dismal choices for Best Album that got voted for by the Grammy committee.

But then of course I remember a time when Nelly was nominated for Best Album of the Year for Country Grammar and I wonder, when did I ever have hope for the Grammy's in the first place?

Her public humiliation by Kanye was the best thing that could've happened to her teenybopper career. Welcome to the Illuminati trick, enjoy your ride.
